100 Years of Waldorf Education
The originally planned Auction Fundraiser was meant to also be a celebration of 100 years of Waldorf education. In the midst of this crisis, as the world is changing quickly, the educational experience that our school offers is now more important than ever.
The first Waldorf School was founded in 1919, as the world was recovering from the ravages of World War I. Rudolf Steiner, the philosopher whose ideas initiated Waldorf education, wrote in a lecture to parents, "Waldorf school has come about in accordance with the demands of present humanity." The first line of the Waldorf School of Mendocino County's mission, "In our children lies the hope of humanity," is relevant today and into the future.
In lieu of the Fund-A-Need campaign at our live auction event, during the online auction, we will take monetary donations. During that time, our generous sponsors will match your donations dollar-for-dollar, up to $12,000.
These are uncertain times, and we ask you to help hold and support our Waldorf School, not just spiritually, but economically as well.
While you are comfortable at home, see what our wonderful families, friends, and local businesses have donated to our auction. Please recognize our local businesses and groups who have given so generously. Hope to see you at our Auction online!
The Waldorf School of Mendocino County is a non-profit based in Calpella and organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our Tax Identification Number is 94-2358610.
